As a chinese person, I will introduce the method of making chinese dumplings and wonton in detail.

Dough and filling

The dough of dumplings is round and thicker.

While the dough of wontons is square and relatively thin. Both are made of flour.

  • Meats, including any meats like pork, beaf, shrimp and even fish.
  • Vegetables, like mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, celery and so on.
  • Salts.
  • Soy source.
  • Pepper.
  • Sesame oil.

Cooking method

Both wontons and dumplings can be cooked in a pot of boiling water. It should be noted that after putting the dumplings in the pot, cover the lid and wait for the water to boil again, then add a little cold water three times, each time after the water boils, to prevent the dough from being overcooked.
